Episode Summary
The world looks at the church in Sardis and sees a living church. Jesus looks at the church at Sardis and sees a dead church. What killed it? And why is its 'life' an illusion? Of course, all hope is not yet lost – there are still a few who can make a difference, if only they would wake up.

5. Tolerating Jezebel (Revelation 2:18-29)
Apr 19, 2026
Apr 19, 2026
38 min
Episode Summary
The church at Thyatira represents something of a paradox: a church that is keeping on for Jesus and commended by him on the one hand, while on the other hand is tolerating the kind of behaviour that wouldn’t please Jesus at all. It reminds us of the danger a seemingly ‘healthy’ church can have when we begin to tolerate the kind of behaviour that is more like the world than the kingdom of Heaven.

4. Where the Devil Dwells (Revelation 2:12-17)
Apr 12, 2026
Apr 12, 2026
44 min
Episode Summary
Despite standing firm as followers of Jesus in the face of horrendous persecution, the church at Pergamum had drifted from their true north in God’s Word. Their experience shows how easily our society, our culture, and our own hearts’ desires can begin to shift our trust in God and his Word.

3. Facing Prison (Revelation 2:8-11)
Apr 8, 2026
Apr 8, 2026
40 min
Episode Summary
Persecution is a reality for followers of Jesus in a world hostile to him and his gospel. But in the modern West, real persecution often seems very distant to us. Of course, we ought to pray for, support and encourage our persecuted brothers and sisters in other parts of the world in whatever way we can, but what if things had to change in our land tomorrow? Are we ready to face ridicule, violence and even death for the name of Jesus?

2. First Love Lost (Revelation 2:1-7)
Mar 29, 2026
Mar 29, 2026
37 min
Episode Summary
While sound Biblical teaching is essential for a healthy church, a church cannot stand on teaching alone. Sound teaching must generate love for God, and love for neighbour, both inside and outside the church, or that church is in danger of being removed as a witness to Jesus in the world.

CARE. CONVICTION. CLARITY.
God’s Word changes lives. As those called to teach the Bible carefully prepare, become convicted of the truth of the message, and clearly present it to others, amazing things happen. I hope and pray these sermons and other presentations help you to know Jesus better, and find ‘fullness of life’ in Him (John 10:10).
